Snugly held in the tight embrace
Of your red sports car
Like a lover's arms
A mother's womb
A cradle, racing
Down the desert highway.

You smile
At something
I said;
I laugh
And darkness speeds by
The cool window glass.

The darkness in me
Is lulled to sleep
By the lullaby
Your fingers strum
On the stickshift,
The rhythm
That your heart beats.

Commentary:

During a very dark time in my life, an angel came briefly, to restore my self-confidence and help me find my way. Thank you, Kelzy.
