The moon is full again
The color of your skin
The glow that reminds me
Of you, asleep, and dreaming.

Commentary:

1) Being tan is highly over-rated in our society, especially in California. There is nothing so beautiful as that particular shade of pearly luminescent moon-colored skin so often coupled with red hair.

2) I know that this commentary is now much longer than the original poem. So what's up with such a short poem? I feel that poetry is "right" when it perfectly captures what the poet wants to say. Many of my poems are snapshots of particular peak experiences in my life. If I can read the poem and immediately return to the details of that moment in time, then I feel I have accomplished what I set out to do. Beyond that, I don't give a greasy poop what anyone else gets out of it.
