What the Hell I Do All Day

11-11:30 pm Get 3-month-old baby to sleep 11:35 am Realize that David Lettermen is a re-run and go work on computer instead. 11:36 - 12:30 am Send email, update websites and do other business relating to non-profit organization for which I am president. 12:31 am Try to go to bed. Husband is snoring. 12:45 am 4-year-old wakes up crying. Comfort her back to sleep. 1 am Fall asleep 4 am-4:30 am Get up to feed baby. 5 am Back to sleep 8-9am Try to keep sleeping while 4-year-old jumps all over bed and watches PBS in my room. 9-9:30 am Nurse baby. 4-year-old gets her own breakfast. 9:35 am Put baby in bouncy seat in bathroom doorway. Take shower. Get dressed. 10 am Eat a barbecue Hot Pocket for breakfast. Change baby. Dress 4-year-old. Gather dirty clothes from around house and start a load of laundry. 10:30-11:45 am Load kids in car and go to Farmer's Market. 11:45-noon Drive home. Noon-1pm Unload car. Try to keep 4-year-old from stepping in giant pile of dog crap left on our grass by neighbor's dog. Wash hands. Nurse baby. Make lunch. Pick up around house. Put clothes in dryer. Check homeschool activity calendar. 1 pm Finish rose baed activity with 4-year-old. Do math activities with fruits and veggies from Farmer's Market. 1:30 pm Nurse baby. 1:50 pm Leave for soccer. 2-3:15 pm 4-year-old has soccer, coach is late so class goes long. Baby naps in stroller. 3:20 pm Check PO Box. 3:30 pm Come home. Unload car. Stop to help 4-year-old with foot she hurt while coming in door. Put 4-year-old in bath. Nurse baby. Answer phone. Wash 4-year-old's hair. 4:10 pm Start dinner (homemade stew with veggies from market). Clean kitchen. Make juice. Change baby. 4:50 pm Sit down for 10 minutes and eat a snack while opening mail. 5 pm Vacuum. Tell 4-year-old to clean her bedroom. Make a hot dog and apple for 4-year-old because she's really hungry right now and doesn't want stew. Husband calls to say rain may make him late. 5:30 pm Nurse baby. Yell at 4-year-old to clean room. 5:55 pm Put baby down for nap because she's fallen asleep. 5:56 pm Baby wakes up. 6 pm Lay on the floor with the baby and stretch my bad back. 6:10 pm Husband home from work.
Note what I did not get done but needed to: Additional laundry. Nap. Any work whatsoever on my own home-based business. Checking my email. Additional work on my non-profit organization's business. Mopping the kitchen floor. Moving dog crap to neighbor's front porch. Exercising. Weeding my roses. Lesson plans and preparation for further homeschooling activities. Five minutes to myself. |
